How the Mining Toolkit app and this website handle information, including what happens when you choose to post a result to the Scoreboard.

Last updated October 28, 2026

Scoreboard posting is optional

A result is only sent when you choose to post it. Posting to the Scoreboard is something you start yourself. The other tools in the app, such as the round planner and calculators, don't submit Scoreboard results.

What a post sends

When you post a Scoreboard result, the app sends:

  • The handle or name you enter
  • Country
  • Machine class and model
  • Bolt details
  • Counts
  • Elapsed time, and whether the timer was used
  • A timestamp
  • An installation identifier generated by the app

The name you enter is shown publicly, so use a handle or initials if you'd rather not show your full name.

What's public

Scoreboard details are displayed publicly. Anyone viewing the Scoreboard can see the handle or name, country, machine, bolt details, counts, time and when the result was posted.

The installation identifier is not included in the public Scoreboard data.

Anything shown publicly can be viewed, copied or saved by other people.

Opening the Scoreboard

Opening the Scoreboard fetches the shared results from the server.

If a result you already chose to post couldn't be sent, for example because you had no signal, it may be retried when you open the Scoreboard. Rounds kept on your phone that you haven't posted are not submitted.

Where it's stored

The Scoreboard backend runs on Vercel, and results are stored in an Upstash Redis database in a US East (United States) region.

Up to 5,000 score records are kept. When that limit is reached, the oldest records are removed. Scores don't expire after a set time.

To help prevent spam and abuse, the server keeps short-term counters based on the installation identifier and a truncated hash of your IP address. These counters last 24 hours.

Vercel and Upstash may keep their own records, such as logs or backups, under their own policies.

How it's sent

Requests between the app and the Scoreboard server use HTTPS, which encrypts the connection in transit.

The Scoreboard isn't end-to-end encrypted, and posting isn't anonymous: your entry is published, and the server receives the details listed on this page.

Removing a result

Clearing the app's data or deleting the app doesn't remove results already posted to the server. There's no button in the app to delete a posted result remotely.

To ask about removing a result you posted, email Mining Toolkit Support with the subject "Scoreboard Removal Request". Include the name or initials shown, the score, roughly when you posted it and the Scoreboard category.

Each request is reviewed individually, and you may be asked a follow-up question first. Removal isn't automatic, there's no set response time, and copies that other people have already viewed or saved can't be recalled.

This website

miningtoolkit.com is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles the connection when you visit, including your IP address. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google.

The site doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers. The feature request form opens your own email app, and nothing is sent unless you send that email.
